Our darkest blend!
The Premium Blend is our strongest blend left in the coffee roaster for a little longer to offer a bold, rich and creamy coffee. Our coffee roaster says this blend brings out the heavy and bold flavours. A good option for espresso (particularly milk based coffee's such as flat white or latte's) or a rich filter with those that buy coffee online and in our retail store. Our coffee roaster alternates between this and the Vivace Blend as our two dark roasted blends.
A dark and smokey blend with lower acidity and a heavy mouth feel. Bold body with dark and chocolate tones. It exhibits flavours of sweet dark fruit and dark toffee.
Recipe (commercial espresso machine):
Espresso Brew Ratio: 1:2.3
Extraction Time: 27-32 seconds.
This means that for every gram of ground coffee dosed into the porta-filter there is 2.3 grams of coffee extracted. If using and dosing with an 18g porta-filter you can extract approximately 42-grams of liquid (coffee). Still stuck? Check out this link to learn more about brew ratios click here.
Where it’s from:
This blend is a five bean blend with a South American Brazilian and Colombian base to give the coffee its good body and natural sweetness. Central American and Ethiopian beans are added that give this blend its distinctive character and rich body. All origins are ethically sourced and picked based on their quality, consistency and flavour characteristics. As this blend is predominantly used in espresso we have chosen a base with a heavy mouth feel and flavour characteristics without too much bitterness.
