Panama, Santa Maria - Natural
Santa Maria is an award winning farm synonymous for specialty coffee!
We recently had the Santa Maria Washed and it sold out within weeks so here is the Natural!
The Santa Maria coffee farm located in Panama, Paso Ancho has developed an excellent reputation for their high end coffee's and Geisha's. We were fortunate enough to buy a washed Geisha a few years ago as onen of the first Geisha's sold to retail in New Zealand.
The farm specialises in the varieties Caturra, Typica or Criollo and Geisha. This farm is special for it's high altitude spanning from 1,564m above sea level up to 1,946m with a total farm area of 120ha. The soil has volcanic characteristics giving the coffee a special aroma, body and acidity.
As a coffee roaster, we’ve roasted this bean to bring out the most of its natural flavours. This specialty coffee has been roasted light to suit mainly filter style brew methods.
😋 Flavour Notes:
Clean, crisp and juicy notes of red and orange. Mandarin, stone fruit, citrus green fruit and a malt finish. This isn't your usual natural and has surprisingly clean and crisp characteristics.
✍️ Recipe:
Filter Brew Ratio: 1:14
Brew Time: Less than 2-minutes (depending on brew method).
This means that for every gram of ground coffee added into the filter there is 15 grams of hot water. Still stuck? Check out this video to learn about applying brew ratios here.
Our recipes are designed as templates for starting points and do vary depending on many other variables including personal preferences in particular.
