Colombia Variedad - Espresso Roast
Here's a sweet single origin roasted for espresso!
This coffee is from a microlot in Timana, Huila and is a new variety named Variedad. EF stands for Extended Fermentation which is a new processing method devised by farmers in Colombia that have had great results with this new method. We tried a lot of the EF coffee's in our origin trip to Colombian in June 2019 and were blown away by the sweetness and complexity achieved through this new processing method. The coffee was harvested with a strict ripeness criteria by being exposed to extended fermentation methods.
As a coffee roaster, we’ve roasted this blend to bring out the most of its natural flavours for espresso. This specialty coffee has been roasted medium to suit black or white espresso brews but is also equally tasty as a rich filter.
Sweet watermelon, floral, panela, orange and cacao.
Recipe (commercial espresso machine):
Espresso Brew Ratio: 1:2.1
Extraction Time: 29-34 seconds.
This means that for every gram of ground coffee dosed into the porta-filter there is 2 grams of coffee extracted. If using and dosing with an 18g porta-filter you can extract approximately 36-grams of liquid (coffee). Still stuck?
